Alto saxophonist Duncan Anselm was a prominent player on the Bristol scene through the late eighties and early nineties, both with his own band and as an original member of Mingus Fingers. Having moved away from the area for 20 years, he is now living not too far away in North Dorset. He has formed this new band with the excellent Dale Hambridge on piano, and two of the busiest musicians over in Bath, Ralf Dorrell - double bass and Rob Brian - drums.
The band play hard grooving tunes from the Blue Note era from the likes of Hank Mobley, Grant Green, Thelonious Monk and Sonny Clark.
Duncan also runs a trio with Ralf Dorrell (bass) and the awesome guitarist, JD (Jon Diver) playing a mixture of Blue Note tunes and jazz standards.
